About Charlie House
Charlie House is a new publication, launched in 2026. It is a guide for teachers moving to Thailand and for the families moving with them.
What we cover
We write about the practical side of moving to Thailand to teach: finding jobs, the visa and work permit, teacher licensing, renting a home and arranging health cover. We focus on the steps where small mistakes are costly, such as missing a re-entry permit or signing a lease without a TM30 receipt.
Who writes it
Guides are written and maintained by the Charlie House editorial team. We are not lawyers, immigration officers or recruiters. Where a rule comes from a government body, we say which one, and we update guides when rules change. Each guide shows when it was last checked.
What we do not do
We do not recruit teachers, act as an agency or charge for advice. We do not take payment for placing a school, landlord or insurer in a guide.

Our guides link to schools, property agencies, insurers, legal firms and directories where that helps a reader take the next step. Some of these organisations may have commercial relationships with our publisher. We only link where the link is relevant to the page, and we do not change what we write about a subject because of a link.
